Bujar Bunjaku, 57, of Philadelphia, Pa passed away surrounded by the warm embrace of his loved ones on November 23rd from injuries sustained from a stroke and heart attack. Bujar's loss was unexpected, and the family is deeply saddened.
Born on September 23rd, 1965, to loving parents Flamur and Fakete Bunjaku in Kukes, Albania, "Lushi," as he was affectionately called immediately filled the lives of those around him with good humor and light heartedness.
After graduating from The Electrical Trade School in Shkoder, Lushi went on to study Electrical Engineering at Tirana University. It was in college, 1987, where Lushi, originating from " veriu" (north Albania) courted his Eli, an English major from "jugu" (south Albania).
After graduation, Lushi obtained his first job as an electrical engineer for Radio Kukesi for 5 years and later went on to be the head of the electrical engineering department for the first mobile communications network in Albania. During that same time, he symbolically joined both sides of Albania when he wed Eli in 1991, and welcomed their first child, Ardona, in 1993.
With his wife and 5-year-old daughter, Lushi immigrated to the United States in 1998 where he welcomed his second child, Ensar in 2002.
Lushi was always a selfless pillar of strength to his family that made many sacrifices to ensure that everyone was taken care of. He was very handy and could fix anything presented to him. He was unendingly proud of the academic achievements of his wife and children. A lifelong learner, Lushi enjoyed watching history documentaries and traveling.
Lushi embodied the attributes of decency, goodness, humility, and kindness. Those qualities were shown in his roles as husband, father, brother, and son. But they also were shown to all he came into contact with--friends, acquaintances, and strangers alike.
Anyone who knew Lushi knew that he was calm and collected, filled with vibrancy and song.
He was predeceased by his mother, Fakete, and his father Flamur Bunjaku.
Aside from his wife and children, Lushi is survived by his brothers, Agim (Doreta) and Urim (Manushaqe), sister Mimoza, grandson, Nikolas Perkins and son in law Philippe Perkins. He leaves behind a niece, Sabina Bunjaku, and three nephews, Emil Blomberg, Armend and Enrik Bunjaku.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family Friday, December 2, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Lambie Funeral Home 8000 Rowland Avenue (At Rhawn Cemetery). He will be laid to rest in Lawnview Cemetery following services.
