Catherine M. Beck

Catherine ("Cass") M. Beck (nee McGrath), age 96, passed away on July 2, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late William ("Bud") C. Beck. She was the loving mother of Kevin Beck (Anne), Eileen Keefe, Marguerite Roche (Philip), Michael Beck (Ann), Patty Mastroni (Tom), the late Francis Beck (Beverly), Thomas Beck (Karen), and Timothy Beck (Patty). She will also be sadly missed by her 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, other relatives and dear friends. And there were many friends, most prominently in a number of 'card clubs' that met regularly at each other's homes. There were two certainties about those 'card clubs' - card games were never played but laughter when the "clubs" got together was immediate, long, loud and infectious. She loved them. And she loved vacationing in Ocean City, NJ, whether sitting on the beach, walking on the boardwalk, or relaxing on the porch - and all things Irish, of course. Cass was a long-time parishioner of St. Matthew R.C. Church, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was sharp, witty, and laughed easily and often. But most importantly, she loved, and was loved, deeply.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM at St. Matthew R.C. Church, 3000 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM. Cass will be laid to rest at a later date with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
