Charles V. Radcliffe Obituary (1946 - 2019)

After 72 years, Charles V. Radcliffe went home to his Lord and Savior on April 10, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Mary Lou (nee Zabala) for 47 years. Charles was the loving father of Vincent, Daniel, Rachel Allebach (Michael), John (Rachel), and Benjamin Radcliffe (Heather). He will also be sadly missed by grandchildren Elijah, Evan, and Caleb as well as siblings Ronald Radcliffe (Judy), Geary Radcliffe (Gina), Monica Hatfield, Mari Rozanski (Dennis) and other relatives and dear friends. Charles served in the Coast Guard from 1963 to 1967. Then he moved to California where he met his "amor de mi corazon y de mi vida" and started a family. In 1974, Charles accepted Christ as his Savior, which changed the course of his life. In the early 1980s, Charles served as an associate pastor on Raul Reis's staff at Calvary Chapel West Covina. Charles and his family returned to Philadelphia in 1986 and made Calvary Chapel Philadelphia their new church home. He was an active member and many knew him as "Ace." Charles worked for the IRS until his retirement in 2007. In retirement, he enjoyed being a grandfather and leisure time with his wife. Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, April 23rd, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, 13500 Philmont Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19116. His service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment and military honors will occur at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Charles's name to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
