Werner D. Carrieri Obituary (1960 - 2021)

Werner D. Carrieri age 60, of Philadelphia, PA went to be with his Maker and Redeemer in heavenly courts above on Friday, January 22, 2021. Youngest son of the late Philip and Margot Carrieri. He leaves behind his siblings Philip, John (Linda), Frank (Donna), Arthur, Margot McKee and Nancy, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Preceded in death by his brother George. He will be sorely missed by Birgit and Wolfgang and other extended family in Germany. Werner graduated from Frankford High School in 1976 just short of his 16th birthday, and in his yearbook a classmate commented "Good luck to the best draftsman I know." In 1982, he graduated Cum Laude from Temple University earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He spent his entire working career as a drafting engineer at Johnson & Towers in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. Werner enjoyed golfing, skiing, biking, all things German, chess, travelling, good food, and games of pinochle with family and friends. Many of you know Werner was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, but we heard little, if any, self-pity or anger from him. In heaven there is no sickness, disease, crying or sorrow. The lamb (Jesus) is the Light of the City of God. A viewing is set for Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136 where family will receive friends and former co-workers. A service to celebrate his life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. No mass cards, please. Interment will follow at Lawnview Cemetery.
